Rajasthan Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme 2024 : The Government of Rajasthan announced to implement ‘Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme’ for the welfare of the residents by providing free electricity to the citizens of Rajasthan state.

The main objective of this scheme is to reduce the cost of electricity by providing up to 150 units of free electricity to each residential household in Rajasthan. The government has also mentioned that it will be merged with the existing Rajasthan Chief Minister Free Electricity scheme.

What is Rajasthan Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme?

One of the major welfare schemes of the Government of Rajasthan is the Chief Minister’s Free Power Scheme. This scheme was launched on 01-04-2023. This scheme is also known as “Rajasthan Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme” or “Rajasthan Chief Minister Household Electricity Subsidy Scheme” or “Rajasthan Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme”.

Under the Rajasthan Chief Minister’s Free Power Scheme, the Government of Rajasthan is going to provide 100 units of free electricity to the residents of Rajasthan.

What is the purpose?

The main objective is to financially empower the people by providing free electricity to the residents of Rajasthan by the government and it will be provided to the residents of Rajasthan who consume less than 100 units of electricity per month.

It has been decided to provide free electricity to them. That is by giving free electricity to people The Energy Department of Government of Rajasthan is the nodal department for this scheme.

The main objective of this scheme is as follows.

Residents of Rajasthan consuming more than 100 units of electricity per month are not eligible for subsidy under this scheme.
Subsidy to residents of Rajasthan. 3/- per unit will be paid to people consuming more than 100 units but less than 150 units.
Grants to residents of Rajasthan. People consuming more than 150 units but less than 300 units will be paid 2/- per unit.
More than 752.58 crores subsidy is distributed by the government under the Rajasthan Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme.
Under this scheme, 1.16 crore consumers get the benefit of free electricity.
Residents of Rajasthan need not apply anywhere to avail free electricity.
But registration is required in Mehngai Rahat Camp in Rajasthan.
Rajasthan government’s power department officials will prepare zero electricity bills for consumers consuming less than 100 units of electricity per month.

Benefits of Rajasthan Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme to Karnataka

Under Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Yojana, people living in Rajasthan will get free electricity up to 100 units per month. Free electricity will be provided to all residents irrespective of their status of living in Rajasthan. Thus, tenants residing in Rajasthan and people from other states can get free electricity up to 100 units.

Eligibility

Permanent resident of the state of Rajasthan.
Applicant must have household electricity connection.
Applicants should consume less than 100 units of electricity per month.

Tenancy agreement (in case of tenants resident in Rajasthan and non-residents)

How to apply for Rajasthan Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme?

Following are the steps for eligible persons to apply for this scheme.

Step 1: Registering houses in Mehangai Rahat Camp.
Step 2: After registering in the ‘Mehangai Rahat Camp.
Step 3: Up to 150 units of free electricity per month will be automatically provided to the residents of Rajasthan.
Step 4: ‘Residents of Rajasthan will not have to pay electricity charges if they consume less than 150 units of electricity per month.
Step 5: If consuming more than 150 units of electricity, he will be charged Rs. 3/- per unit will be charged.
Step 6: If electricity consumption is between 150 units to 300 units Rs. 2/- per unit will be applicable.
Step 7 : The electricity department in Rajasthan itself will generate the bill according to the consumer’s consumption unit.

Acknowledgment will be sent by email/SMS to the registered customer under Rajasthan Chief Minister Free Power Scheme. No need to apply anywhere to avail zero electricity bill.
